ROBOTICOM: Offering Unconventional Robotic Solutions

Andrea Bertolaccini, Sales Director, ROBOTICOMAndrea Bertolaccini, Sales Director
Robotics is remarkably transforming today’s industrial columns. This technology has brought a significant shift as companies move towards it to maximise their productivity and minimise the burden on its human workers and employees. Compared with conventional robots, advanced robots have a remarkable perception, integrability, adaptability, and mobility. These advancements permit quick setup, commissioning, and reconfiguration, as well as more efficient and stable operations. Taken together, this growth means that advanced robots will be able to accomplish many tasks more economically than the previous generation of automated systems. Also, life-risking jobs that are performed by humans is being taken over by robots. But hindrance to the broader application of advanced robots includes the limitations of the current technology and the high costs of acquiring and operating it. This is where companies like ROBOTICOM makes a difference.

ROBOTICOM designs, engineers, and provides innovative robotic solutions to the market. With the expertise and wisdom gained over 20 years in the business, the company has an innate capacity to meet every need for automation in many different fields, offering custom robotic solutions for individual customers. ROBOTICOM is a brand of Fabrica Machinale Srl, an Epica International company and a pioneer in robotic manufacturing solutions. Businesses associate with ROBOTICOM to achieve a steady level of quality along with the time. For instance, painting and polishing works are majorly carried out by skilled workers. However, if the skilled workers are unable to perform on a particular day, the quality of the finished product often declines. On the other hand, ROBOTICOM’S automation solution manages to deliver an output of quality with a steady level of performance and flexibility. “We provide a complete turn key solution, and look through the software and hardware to ramp up the production process,” states Andrea Bertolaccini, Sales Director of ROBOTICOM.
ROBOTICOM’s broad range of clientele includes companies from the automotive, transportation and aerospace industry. As ROBOTICOM offers industrial process automation and multipurpose solutions, clients have the liberty to automate processes on irregular shapes, conventionally done manually, with robotic systems for sanding, polishing, deburring, milling, trimming, drilling, cutting and bonding. Since sanding and polishing releases, a lot of powder, workers avoid performing these processes due to health issues. Against this background, ROBOTICOM has developed specific tools, and by means of powerful robot programming software ARPP®, the tools are automatically controlled by the robot. The ARPP® software technology truly defines the unique value proposition of the company and sets them apart from the rest of the players in the marketplace. This robot simulator is designed by the efficient team members of ROBOTICOM, that allows the clients to entirely manage the robot without the use of any additional software and with internal workforce well trained by them.

We provide a complete turn-key solution, and look through the software and hardware to ramp up the production process

Catering to the requirements of businesses has been possible by ROBOTICOM as it keeps itself abreast with the ongoing trends. Many companies no longer have a rigid machine that can work for 24 hours and deliver long batches of products. Instead, small batches of products can be produced by utilising robotic systems by changing the programme and tool frequently. This will also render a certain amount of flexibility, reduce the workforce, and add value to the whole operation. The company has three primary robotics systems, ORTIS for 3D milling in orthopaedic, ScultoRob for 3D milling in the artistic field and prototyping, and SandRob. Out of these three cutting-edge robotic systems, SandRob stands out as the most advance system and most-requested solution in the last few years. SandRob is one of the only robotic solutions solving the needs of all surface finishing processes. Starting from sanding to polishing, and trimming of complex shapes at any scale or size. A force feedback system integrated within each tool allows to precisely control the force exercised on the treated surface, to achieve different results on the same workpiece. In contrast, the speed control is monitored continuously using the software. “We develop and patent everything internally, be it tools or special tools. We also have a subsidiary in the USA, and hold similar connections around the world like Canada, China, and Europe,” asserts Bertolaccini.

As the world is currently going through a significant crisis, and the work culture is majorly being dependent on technology, businesses are showing greater interest in automation. This crisis has not disrupted the workflow of ROBOTICOM, rather businesses who were in good shape prior to the pandemic are approaching ROBOTICOM. Besides, there are some financial incentives for upgrading to industry 4.0, and this pandemic is pushing businesses to invest in automating these specific operations like sanding, grinding and so on because there can be a shortage of workforce due to the current scenarios.

With such overarching offerings, ROBOTICOM marches along with a target of delivering more than 50 robots by next year. The company is also focused on increasing its business all around the world supported by partnership agreement and being the go-to choice for every other company looking for automation solutions.
